Vibratory Pile Driving: An installation method with a large impact
Gerald Verbeek, Technical Advisor CPT, Eijkelkamp North America

While vibratory pile driving for sheet piles is widely accepted, there are still major reservations to use this installation method for foundation piles.  In this presentation all aspects of the vibratory driving process (i.e., planning, execution, installation inspection, and testing) will be covered to demonstrate that this installation method can and should be approached in the same way as pile driving with an impact hammer.  Special attention will be given to the parameters that need to be observed during pile driving monitoring, the so-called vibratory driving analysis (the equivalent of pile driving analysis) and the signal matching process to derive capacity values for the pile.  Finally the presentation will cover a case study of a pile installation that will illustrate the content presented in this webinar.

The objectives of this webinar are:

  • to demonstrate that vibratory pile driving is a viable option
  • to explain how the pile driving process needs to be approached to ensure success

This course is designed for Contractors, Geotechnical Engineers and Structural Engineers, Architects, Owners, Inspectors, Supervisors & Crew; anyone affected by and /or involved with driven piles.
